Every interaction with Jetta is a heartwarming, confidence boosting, calming, and soul-filling one. We first met at the birth of my first son. She was fulfilling her apprenticeship at the time and when she showed up at my house with my Midwife, I knew she was exactly who was meant to be there and it was no coincidence. When it came time for me to push, I was having strong contractions but for some reason, baby was taking his sweet time descending. I was exhausted and just wanted to give up. Jetta came down to my level, took my hands and prayed with me. It was exactly what I needed to muster up a little more strength to get my baby boy out perfectly healthy and happy. When I saw she started her own practice, it was a no brainer for me to call when I discovered I was unexpectedly (but excitedly) expecting #3!! Every appointment was time carved out that I looked forward to, not just for baby measurements and heartbeats, but for knowledgeable, humorous, and inspiring conversation.  This last pregnancy just flew by under her care as I was having the best time!  I went 9 days overdue and she kept me hopeful, yet armed with facts and a solid plan of what would need to happen as time went on. She was incredibly patient and prompt with my around the clock text messages and phone calls asking questions and seeking reassurance. Delivery time came and my sweet son flew out in a whirlwind precipitous birth that left no time for even my birth pool. I was in elated shock how fast things had gone this time and how quickly his slippery warm  existence appeared on my chest. Everything could not have gone better if I had planned it. Jetta was there to celebrate my baby as if I was her only client, she cared for me and for my son and even loved on my daughter who couldn’t wait to welcome another baby to our family. Jetta is so much more than a birth worker for hire- she is a remarkable human being living out the utmost calling for her life.  I feel a deep connection to her now and it’s only because she opens herself to you, and is available. She meets you in your weakness, fear, unknown, strength, loss, victory, and every facet of your journey that is so beautifully yours. I am so much more blessed to know her. Thank you Jetta, I hope you know how much you are loved.

My first birth was a homebirth in Washington, followed by a birth center birth in Arizona. Although I have nothing bad to say about my birth center birth, I missed birthing at home and also desired to find a midwife with similar beliefs as mine for my third birth. After interviewing a couple home birth midwives, I met with Jetta. I immediately felt comfortable with her – like old friends.  My husband felt the same way.  Throughout my pregnancy she was always willing to calm my fears or answer my many questions despite it being my third. My labor wasn’t as quick as I had hoped but Jetta was there to support and encourage me. She was even able to get my baby to progress after she realized she was coming down sideways. When my baby was born she had her cord tightly wrapped around her neck. Jetta acted quickly with the help of her assistant to release the cord. Thanks to Jetta I was able to have another healthy baby at home. One thing I value most about Jetta was her willingness to pray with me when things were not going as planned.  Jetta started out as my midwife and is now my friend. I’m so thankful for Jetta and have nothing but praise for her.

I have been so blessed with my home birth because I had Alicia and Jetta helping me through it. We laughed (through the pain), we talked (through the pain), we laughed again and then focused on getting my little boy out, and they helped me every step of the way. They never invaded those moments during labor when you just need to be on your own with your husband, but I felt safe because I knew they were there for us. When it was time they were perfect team and helped me through the pain and my husband to experience the joy of delivering the baby. I can’t stop being grateful for them and for giving me the opportunity to have the home birth I always hoped for. Thanks Jetta and and I wish you all the best you are an amazing midwife!!!!

I had a c-section. Yes, that’s right. Jetta was my midwife and I had a c-section.

We planned and talked, with Jetta always available to answer all 1,000 questions I had rolling day after day. I had such a beautiful home birth – in my mind.

I am a nurse and I chose Jetta because she was the most competent person I could find who I liked. I saw doctors. I saw CNMs. I chose her and everyone who looked at me sideways when I said homebirth, also looked relieved when I said, “Jetta Anderson.”

So… what happened? I could have lost my life or my baby, but instead I had a smooth and distress-free c-section. Jetta knew immediately from one text that my placenta was abrupting. She knew and she drove to my house and took me to the hospital. Through all my tears and disappointment and grief for the loss of the birth I planned, I had a healthy baby and I was safe because of Jetta.

A doctor would not have been at my house to tell me something was wrong. I had no pain. Some bleeding. I had no idea anything was wrong. My midwife saved us.

For my first home birth, Jetta was a student with my midwife at the time. I immediately felt a connection. Her lively spirit made me feel safe and excited for our birth. When birth time came, my baby was coming fast and we called our midwife maybe a little late (whoops!) Jetta was close by and was able to make it just as my water was breaking. She was able to reassure and keep me confident that we could bring this baby into the world safely! I love how she was able to keep me comforted and give care while leaving room for my husband and doula to do their thing. She also  was the best during post-Partum care, really giving a listening ear. During my whole experience, I never felt pressured to make a decision I was not comfortable making, and she was very informative on decisions O was not sure about. We were so blessed by her! I’m so excited to have her as my midwife with our newest baby!

Jetta was completing her apprenticeship as a midwife when we met. She is so warm, caring, full of love, and instantly became a member of our family upon our first meeting. Jetta took the journey with me through my third natural childbirth and my first home birth. The experience is hard to describe as it is certainly one of the most amazing unforgettable experiences I have had in my entire life. Jetta was always so patient and available to answer any questions and to guide me through the process. The autonomy and piece of mind that were given through the pre and postnatal periods cannot compare to my experience in those treatment periods with my prior OB/Gyn. I am so blessed to have Jetta’s friendship and to have had her tender sincere love during the development and birth of my third child. I never felt overwhelmed or fearful of the process that is natural and is meant to proceed as our bodies are designed for this miracle. Jetta is a wonderful asset to the profession of midwifery and I will gladly recommend her to any friend or family member searching for a midwife. Jetta is a huge part of what made the home birth of my third child so wonderful and such a blessing! I am so grateful to Jetta for the gentle, thorough, kind, and loving care she showed me, my family, and my child throughout the birthing process.

Jetta was my co-midwife for my attempted home birth in July 2015. I called them in and around 4 or 5 am she was there and ready for whatever was next. I spent that whole day and night in labor with no progression and she was so amazing to have there. She was supportive (of me, in every way of me), encouraging, funny, and ready for anything. Unfortunately after 2 days of laboring at home with no progress we had to go to the hospital, it broke my heart as I was so set on a home birth. But Jetta and Alicia were right there with me, reassuring me, encouraging me, and just letting me cry with no shame. She knew how important a home birth was to me and how much it killed me to have to go to the hospital to deliver and she was right there telling me it’s okay, and then not saying anything, just offering a shoulder when that was what I needed. After sleeping on my floor for a couple hours at best, she was loaded and ready to go to the hospital. She stayed in the room and by my side while I continued to labor at the hospital, all the way through into the night when it was finally decided that I would have to have a C-section to safely bring my baby into the world. She was there to continue encouraging me, to explain everything to me so I could understand it, and to make sure I knew what my options were and had all the information I needed to make the decisions I was most comfortable with. My son was finally born at 10:55pm after 3 days of labor, and Jetta was with me the whole way, even though that meant that she gave up her birthday day (which was the day my son finally came into the world)!! It would have been scary, stressful, and probably even traumatic without Jetta and Alicia there with me, and when I get pregnant again you can bet they will be my first call! Thank you Jetta for everything, I hope you got your birthday this year!!

After a c-section with a breech baby and a vbac ending with an epidural I knew that I wanted to deliver baby #3 drug free. My husband and I agreed that since we didn’t have my mom close by that the support of a doula would be a great way to support and guide us in order to help me accomplish my goal of a drug free birth. We interviewed about 12 doulas. Jetta and I connected on the phone before we even met in person. She was friendly, easy to talk to, extremely knowledgeable and I instantly felt like she was an old friend. We felt comfortable sharing this intimate event in our life with her without any reservations. She was always quick to respond to any communication and always checked in on me. When I went into early labor she showed up at my door just when I needed her, without me having to ask, and took care of all my needs. She worked perfectly with my husband, hospital team, and the rest of my family and friends that were around during my birthing experience. She was able to talk the language I needed to hear to get me through each contraction. She paid extra attention to details in our conversations and used that information to support me when I least expected it. My experience was just the way I imagined it should be and I would hire her again over and over. I think the world of her and am so honored that she shared this with us.

Jetta served as the doula during my second delivery and first homebirth. She was absolutely amazing in so many areas, but I’ll highlight three. First of all, she protected my space. I am a very private person, and I found that Jetta served as a “privacy advocate” of sorts. In terms of labor support, this was huge to me, in that it enabled me to have the quiet and solitude I needed to focus on my birth. Secondly, Jetta guarded my existing family in a uniquely nurturing way. I had a 17 month old daughter at the time of this birth, and it was Jetta who gently reminded the midwife and assistants that we had a little one sleeping, and kept people from congregating and talking in the hallway. Again, knowing my daughter was undisturbed helped me give full attention to my labor. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Jetta protected my birth environment. I am a highly organized, clean person and as such, homebirth scared me a little because of the potential mess. Jetta helped me SO much by devising ways to protect my carpets, assisting with clean-up when my water broke, and adhering to my system for making sure the room was put back together after the birth. She also enabled me to communicate these preferences to my birth team. This helped me keep my mind off the mess and on my impending arrival. Are you seeing a theme? Jetta’s support allowed me to focus on the important thing – my labor – and not on all the comparatively unimportant logistics. Jetta is an incredible doula, because while my preferences/choices may seem atypical, Jetta honored them, and I believe that is what a quality doula does. She helps a woman get the birth she wants, whatever that looks like for HER. I will be forever grateful to Jetta for aiding me in achieving the birth I envisioned for myself and the gentle entrance to the world I envisioned for my son.

Jetta is a miracle worker! I loved my experience with her. She knew all the comforting words to say and taught me to see my confident side. She has put more joy in my birthing experience and made me realize how much I can do. She is the best doula I know! And I am so thankful she was there every step of the way!

I don’t think I can say enough wonderful things about Jetta. Being pregnant for the first time, I was nervous and a bit scared of what labor would be like but I knew I wanted a natural birth. After my husband & I met with Jetta, we left feeling excited & confident. How could we not? She was everything we were looking for and from that point on, we knew she was the one for us. Over the weeks that followed, Jetta constantly kept in touch to make sure I was feeling great and to also offer support with any concerns we had (When my husband & I were having second thoughts about our hospital, she sent us resources to other places and that is how we found our wonderful midwives & birth center!). We also decided to sign up for her birth classes, which I highly recommend. They were so fun and I was actually bummed when they ended. It was a great way to not only become more educated, but to develop a closer relationship. On the morning I went into labor, Jetta arrived and got right down to business. Our original plan to go to the birth center quickly changed and we ended up having a home birth. This probably would have scared me if I didn’t have Jetta there. She really knows how to handle the unexpected and does it in such a natural way that I never worried once. I also have to mention that she was AMAZING at helping me handle my contractions. I had some intense pressure in my lower back and she knew exactly where and how much pressure to apply. When our little boy finally arrived, she continued to help by making sure we were comfortable and even made us breakfast (which was so delicious!) 🙂 Overall, she went above and beyond and my husband & I won’t hesitate to have her as our doula again when we have our next baby. Thank you for everything, Jetta!!

When I made the decision to do my first home birth, even though it would be my fourth child and being a postpartum nurse, I was full of questions and anxiety. Jetta was referred to me by a friend and from the first time I met her, I knew that she was the one. Jetta always would have or find an answer to my questions, she was calm and reassuring and I could feel the anxiety start to melt away. She is so kind and encouraging and was with me every step of the way. She really takes the time to not only get to know you but also to become your true friend. Even my three year old son fell in love with her. He would love her visits and was so excited when she was around.

When the time came, the birth was amazing and Jetta helped me gather the perfect birth team and I couldn’t have asked for better. Everything went wonderfully and it was such an amazing experience. I am glad that Jetta was there to share it with me and my family. She is by far the best midwife anyone could ask for and I feel like she has become part of the family.

Jetta is ahhh-mazing!!  My initial interview with her was over the phone and I knew then she would be a great match.  But when we met in person, it was like talking to an old friend at lunch.  So sweet, so personable, a great sense of humor, and so passionate about birth.  She became more than a midwife, she became a sister-friend and prayer partner.  At each visit and through my labor and delivery, she was easy going and open to my concerns.  She even was a sounding board regarding personal matters unrelated to birth.  Jetta knew exactly what I wanted with my birth and was ready to accommodate me when I realized things were not going according to plan.  Over the course of a long 57.5 hour labor, Jetta was there to encourage me, feed me, and check on my son’s entry into the world.  She even sent other birth professionals to my home in her stead when she had to attend other births.  Jetta cried tears of disappointment when I had to be transferred from home to the hospital (we learned the baby’s shoulder was lodged and it was best to be in a hospital setting).  She cried tears of joy when my son finally arrived – healthy and without intervention.  She cried bigger tears of joy when she came to see us at our home.  I cannot say enough good things about Jetta as a midwife and human being. I highly recommend Jetta Anderson to any woman seeking a midwife. <3  Thank you Jetta for a great birth experience.

I was referred to Jetta through my doula, when I found out that I was able to have a home birth with my third child.  My husband was a little apprehensive with having a home birth but once he met Jetta, he was completely on board and actually excited!  Her professionalism and knowledge surpassed any doubt and we went on to have the best delivery and birthing experience to date!  She truly has the “gift” and natural intuition on how to handle each patient, according to their specific needs.  Her demeanor is calming and she makes you feel so relaxed, with every appointment and communication.  Jetta is truly top notch and I would recommend her to any mother considering using a midwife and her service is exceptional!
